DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY
About Department:
The Department of Microbiology was established in 2009.It is started in collaboration with Department of Zoology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Computer Science, Department of Physics and Department of Mathematics, and after a brief period, the Department was shifted to separate building in VivekanandScience College campus. The Department always tends to provide a quality education to the students. The Department runs three years bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. Since its establishment the Department is doing its best for maintaining the academic standard and wellbeing of students. The Department is well equipped and involved in the basic and applied research. The Department regularly conduct guestlectures, workshops,national level quiz and poster contests and seminars in order to make the students aware of latest development in the field of microbiology. Microbiologyincludes the study of all types of microorganisms, their industrial applications, microbial control etc.
Currently one fulltime Assistant professor and oneCHB faculty members are working in department.Apart from teaching the faculty members are also encourage to participate in various conferences, workshops, seminars, poster presentations, powerpoint presentations, projects based upon applied sciences,and quiz contestsetc.
- Visionand Mission:
As this college is situated in the rural area, our aim is to nurture, groom and give all possible opportunities to grow and bloom the talent and skills. To give returns to the efforts put in by students throughout their academic endeavour. Also giving a sense of achievement and sense of responsibility towards fulfilling further commitments. Department of microbiology is a department which is purely working on the principal “for the students, of the students and to the students”.
