“Conduction of the Remedial Classes”
Objective:
- To improve a skill or ability in each student
- To help the weak students in realizing their weakness and help them to improve on their own
- To boost up the skills, attitude and self-confidence of the weaker students.
The Context:
The objective of the remedial classes is to give additional help to students fallen behind the rest of the class in academic due to varied reasons. Apart from various learning difficulties, student may have different abilities and style of the learning. Some are better in visual learning while others are more competent in auto learning. Certain students have to learn through practical experiences. Therefore through remedial classes teachers design diversified teaching activities and various methods to help the students develop their potential and improve the obstacles in learning.
The Practice:
Slow learners are those who perform below average students. Teachers identify the weaker students through class tests, assignments, homework and attendance in the classroom. Teachers prepare the separate list of such students and maintain it. Remedial classes are conducted to meet the needs of weaker section of students. Teacher and HODs have been given the responsibility of addressing these issues. Class tests are conducted and the corrected answer scripts are given to the student.
Thereby the teacher draws the attention of the slow learners to the areas of knowledge deficiency, misconception and inability to express knowledge
Evidence of Success:
Teachers give special attention to students through mentor-mentee scheme in the class. This helps the students to promote success rate. Confidence level of such students can be boosted up in this scheme. Apart from teaching, the teacher who takes remedial classes tries to establish good interpersonal relationship to facilitate effective communication and collaboration as well as enhance the team spirit of the students.
Problems Encountered And Resources Required:
One of the major challenges faced in this regard is to formulate practical teaching objective that would meet the learning characteristics and weakness of students to foster a sense of achievement. On the other hand, teacher should decide whether the learning items should be taught in details or brief.
Geared to learning needs of individual candidate, the individualized education programme into reinforces the foundation of learning, helps students to overcome their learning difficulties and develop their potential. Well designed learning environment helps to maintain student attention and interest in learning and facilitate the achievement of teaching aims.

“Holistic Development of the Students through NSS.”
Objectives:
- Development of the students is the Prime Motive of Our College.
- Various curricular and extracurricular activities of the students are organized under NSS programme.
- The objective of the holistic development is to stimulate competitive Spirit among the students to make them competent to face global competency
- Activities under NSS provide a platform to the students to show their talents and help in nurturing them.
The Context:
Sky is the limit for holistic development of every student. While ensuring the holistic development of the student, it is also expected and observed that a general social awareness is created in minds of the students. Various activities are undertaken for the holistic development of the students which is turn prepares them to be responsible citizens. Carrying out their activities with academic provides great platform for the students for their personality building and overall skill enhancement to meet the global challenges.
Practice:
The following activities are carried out under NSS Programme:
1) Cleanliness Drive: Cleanliness drive is conducted regularly with the active participation of NSS students. Efficient solid waste management in the campus is the result of the activity.
2) Tree Plantation: Considering the importance of carbon footprints, tree plantation drive is conducted during the rainy season every year. Students actively take part in this drive with lots of interest.
3) Blood Donation Camp: To inculcate the feeling that we owe some debt towards society and that every responsible citizen must donate blood as and when possible which can save somebody’s life.
4) NSS Camp: Every year a camp is organized for 1 week in a nearby village in which our NSS students create awareness among the villagers about cleanliness and hygiene besides educating them various important issues.
5) Jayantis of Great Persons in India: Students organize programs on Jayanti of some great person in India like Gandhi Jayanti, Swami Vivekanand Jayanti, Shiv Chhatrapati Maharaj Jayanti, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti.
6) Program on Women Empowerment: Program on Women Empowerment sensitize the students, specially the female students about the issues of gender equality and to empower them.
Evidence of success:
Active participation of students and their involvement in the above mentioned programs helps in creating awareness among the students which help them in deciding and excelling in the career of their choice. Due to donation of blood by student at teenage stage, a social awareness is created in student to help needy patient and on humanitarian ground that too without expecting any favor in return. These attitudes so created at this juncture of time, plays a very important role in changing their attitude toward the life.
Most of the students of the institute get benefited by different motivational lecturers which prepare them to face the challenges in their career path.
